Romelia War Chronicle will premiere in Japan this October and run for two cours. Crunchyroll will stream the fantasy series in North America, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS, giving the adaptation a broad international release alongside its Japanese broadcast.


A new trailer also introduces four additional cast members: Shoya Chiba as Gran, Gakuto Kajiwara as Ragn, Shun Horie as Kyle and Ryunosuke Watanuki as Otto. They join Yuna Nemoto as Romelia von Graham, Jin Ogasawara as Al and Tomohiro Ono as Ray.


The anime adapts Ryo Ariyama’s light novel series about a noblewoman cast aside after helping defeat the Demon King, only to begin organizing an army of her own as threats remain across the kingdom. Hiroshi Shirai directs at studio Atra, with Aya Satsuki handling series composition. An exact October premiere date has not yet been announced.

Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Strange! My Yōkai Monster Vacation debuted at No. 3 at the Japanese box office after opening on July 31. The film is the 33rd theatrical entry in the long-running franchise and follows the Nohara family on a trip to Akita that leads them into a supernatural adventure involving a world of yōkai.


Its opening placed the film among several major summer releases. Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island slipped to No. 2 in its second weekend after topping the chart on debut, while the fifth live-action Kingdom film fell to No. 5. The ranking gives Crayon Shin-chan another strong theatrical showing in a crowded period for family-oriented and franchise films.


The new Crayon Shin-chan film is directed by Masaki Watanabe from a screenplay by Yoshiko Nakamura, with Toho distributing the film in Japan. No international theatrical or streaming release plans have been announced.

Weekly Shonen Jump’s average print circulation fell below one million copies for the first time since audited figures began. Data from the Japan Magazine Publishers Association shows that Shueisha’s flagship manga magazine averaged 985,000 printed copies between April and June 2026.


The figure marks a major change from the magazine’s 1990s peak. Weekly Shonen Jump reached a record circulation of 6.53 million copies with its combined New Year issue released in December 1994, during an era that included major serializations such as Dragon Ball and Slam Dunk. It nevertheless remains Japan’s highest-circulation weekly manga magazine, ahead of Weekly Shonen Magazine and Weekly Shonen Sunday.


The decline reflects a broader contraction in Japan’s print-publishing market as more readers move toward digital platforms. Print circulation alone does not measure Weekly Shonen Jump’s full readership or international reach, but falling below one million represents a symbolic milestone for one of manga publishing’s most influential magazines.

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4 will continue with “The Recapture Arc” on August 12. Beginning with Episode 12, the eight-episode storyline follows the 11-part “Loss Arc,” which premiered on April 8 and concluded the first portion of the season.


A newly released trailer previews Subaru and his allies as they attempt to recover what was taken from them during the previous arc. The footage points toward another difficult stage of their journey through the Pleiades Watchtower, with the group still confronting lost memories, fractured relationships and the threats surrounding the tower.


Crunchyroll streams Season 4 in North America, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, India and Southeast Asia. The platform has not separately detailed whether every language option offered during “The Loss Arc” will continue when Episode 12 arrives.

Kaiju No. 8: Narumi’s Week at Work will premiere on September 5 as a four-episode original short anime. New episodes will arrive weekly on Saturdays, with the Japanese release scheduled for 8:00 p.m. JST through the TOHO animation YouTube channel and other services.


Crunchyroll says it will stream the series across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East and CIS. That broad distribution gives international viewers additional Kaiju No. 8 content following the anime’s first two television seasons, although exact regional release times have not been announced.


The short centers on First Division captain Gen Narumi and offers a look at his life away from the main series’ larger battles. Its story draft is credited to Kizuku Watanabe, creator of the comedy spinoff manga Kaiju No. 8 Relax, and a promotional trailer has been released ahead of the premiere.
